Asia Calling Program 8 October 2016

This week 19-year-old Joshua Wong was detained in Thailand at the request of China.

The student activist, who was to speak at a Bangkok university about his campaign for democracy, was swiftly deported back to Hong Kong. The incident has escalated concerns about freedom under junta rule.

Well this week on Asia Calling we hear about an international torture report the Thai government recently tried to suppress.

We’re also going to be hearing about women rebels in East Timor, and resilience in the face of terror in Pakistan.
